Forget the Hanging Gardens of Babylon –the Hanging Baskets of Donegore will take centre stage as the Landscape Centre provides top tips on how to get the best out of your summer garden.
From May 21 to 30, the Landscape Centre in Donegore is going ’potty’ with its ‘Basket Bonanza’, which concentrates on maximising the pleasures of the garden during the fine weather.
Right now is the best time to get those gardens in order, so during Basket Bonanza the Landscape Centre is providing a unique and free service, cleaning and refilling your baskets and pots and bringing them straight to your car.
And as well as recycling your garden containers, which is good for the environment, there are a range of exciting offers including hanging baskets from £9.99 and a selection of pots at half price.
Other events include a special Water Day on May 21, when Matt Hughes from Oase – the UK’s leading supplier of water features, will be on site to answer all questions about garden ponds, ornamental fountains etc. The session will include advice on pumps, filters and how to keep your water clean.
On May 28 and 29, the centre will hold a special Outdoor Living Weekend with advice on how to spruce up your patios and how to get the most out of BBQ season. During the weekend there will be special offers on patio pots, selected BBQ sets and garden furniture.
And from 2pm to 4pm on both days there will be BBQ demonstrations with a chance to sample the smoky delights of deliciously cooked meats.
The Landscape Centre’s Kaye Campbell explained the idea behind Donegore’s Basket Bonanza.
“Summer is the time when people spend the most time in their gardens. Our aim is to help the public ensure that their gardens are looking beautiful at this time of year by giving them the best possible advice on plants, ornamental features and of course dining al fresco.
“As for our basket filling service, why pot your new plants at home when we can do it for you on site? Our staff are very skilled in design, so we can ensure that you get the best out of your baskets and ornamental pots.”
While Donegore staff are doing all the hard work filling your pots you can enjoy a nice cup of tea and a delicious scone in the centre’s popular café.
The award-winning Landscape Centre has Co Antrim’s biggest range of plants at very competitive prices and its highly experienced staff will ensure that they bring a blaze of colour back into your lives.
The Basket Bonanza at Donegore lasts from May 21 to 30. For more information about it and other events go to www.donegore.com or ring 028 94 432175.
